Priceless...

You know those credit card commercials? $2.50 for laundry detergent to wash thrown up on clothes/car seat, $30.00 for Disneyland toddler jacket to replace the jacket that was brought and lost (luckily we found it and didn't have to buy a new one), $6.00 for camera batteries, Ethan's first trip to Disneyland - priceless.

From the previous description, our trip sounds pretty eventful and it was. We started out our trip by hitting the road Tuesday, February 5th after voting. Since TMBG released their new album that day, we decided to stop by Best Buy at Chandler Mall to get it on our way out of town. Ethan seemed pretty cranky that morning and as we pulled into Best Buy's parking lot, we learned why. He threw up all over his car seat and clothes. We decided to turn around and go back home to clean up and let Ethan rest. We hit the road again at 3:00 and made it to where the I-10 meets the I-17 before Ethan pewked again. We continued down the road and Ethan continued to toss his cookies - a total of 10 times in the car. Can you imagine what our car smelled like?

We went to Disneyland on Wednesday, February 6th and enjoyed almost every minute. We started out in Fantasyland riding Dumbo and Ethan seemed to like it. We then moved onto Mr. Toad's Wild Ride, Snow White and Pinocchio - Ethan did not like these. Then on to Casey Junior, Peter Pan (it was a hit!), Tea Cups, Alice In Wonderland and then Ethan took a nap. Ryan took advantage of a sleeping toddler and ventured on to the Matterhorn. The Burke's arranged for all of us to eat at the Blue Bayou, the restaurant in Pirates of the Caribbean, so we headed over to New Orleans Square. We had some time before lunch and went on Pirates - still old school with a few new additions from the movies including Captain Jack Sparrow. We dined at the Blue Bayou - too dark to read the menu or see your food and WAY overpriced. After our dining experience, we moved onto the Haunted Mansion, Ryan and Stephen then went on Splash Mountain while Addy and Ethan went on Pooh Bear. We then went across the park to Tomorrowland to take a drive through Autotopia. We decided to check out the Parade of Dreams and claimed a spot on a bench on Main Street. While we waited, Addy rode Star Tours and Space Mountain (Ryan and Addy's favorite on the trip). We enjoyed the parade and Ethan enjoyed catching a nap. Before we left, Ryan decided to go check out Space Mountain also.

The next day, Ethan spewed again at the hotel, but seemed well enough to partake in some of the fun Disneyland has to offer. Heather and Stephen's oldest, Kjirsten, wasn't feeling well also, so we all ended up at Disneyland a little later than expected. It gave them some time to take care of things and gave us time to wash clothes and Ethan's car seat. We decided to check out Toon Town first thing. Typically, we ride Roger Rabbit and then leave, but since we have a little one, we decided to see what else they had to offer. We learned that there wasn't much. Ethan played for a little while at Goofy's house, Donald's Boat and the Chipmunk's Tree House, but there wasn't too much to do. Ethan loves trains, so we hopped on the Disneyland train and took a ride around the park. We then decided that we should check out Finding Nemo, the newest ride at Disneyland, and found a line longer than what we wanted to wait in. So, we decided to hit Space Mountain again - yes, it was that fun! We then moved onto Ethan's favorite ride - Buzz Lightyear (he rode it a total of 5 times over 2 days). On to the Astro Rockets and over to California Adventure where we checked out a few Bugs Life rides and show. Ethan crashed, so we decided to head back to the hotel. We were going to go out for dinner, but Ethan woke up and threw up once again.

Everyone seemed to be feeling a little bit better, so we headed out on Friday for our last day at Disneyland. Ryan and I started out the day by riding Indiana Jones. The day included more Pirate's, Addy enjoying Splash Mountain while Ryan kept an eye on a resting Ethan, lunch at a Mexican Restaurant in the park, Ryan catching a ride on Thunder Mountain Railroad after it was fixed and before it broke again, Ryan checking out Star Tours, and Ethan riding on Buzz again. We then headed on over to California Adventure for a Live Playhouse Disney show, Ryan and Stephen getting wet on the Grizzly River Run, soaring on the Golden Zephyr, sliding on the Sun Wheel, Ryan and Stephen screaming on the Maliboomer, and the Electric Light Parade. California Adventure closed earlier than Disneyland, so we headed back to Disneyland to catch a few more rides and enjoy the fireworks. Addy caught a ride on the Matterhorn Bobsleds and then we finished our adventures in Disneyland by watching the firework show - very impressive.

Saturday was supposed to be an easy going day, but with prior events we somehow knew that it wouldn't be. Ethan was sick of being cooped up in the hotel room and we had a lunch date and afternoon planned with the Burke's. We headed south to eat lunch at On The Border and ended up changing our plans after lunch so the Burke's could get a nap. Addy started feeling ill after lunch and wasn't up to doing much. So, we also headed back to our hotel so Addy could rest and Ryan and Ethan checked out the Lego store at Downtown Disney. That evening, we met up with the Burke's at the Queen Mary for a tour of the ship. Ethan had fallen asleep on the way there and was not happy when he woke up, so Ryan was dealing with a cranky kid and Addy felt a bit sea sick. We returned to the hotel where Addy followed in Ethan's footsteps and tossed her cookies. Needless to say, we were more than ready to go home.

Sunday we headed home without anyone getting sick on the way. We were so happy to get back to our own space and enjoy our own beds. It was a great trip and we look forward to the time that we can return - hopefully without anyone getting sick.
