After our previous week's adventures you would think that we would take it easy and stay home. But we found ourselves packing up the car again to head out. Ryan's cousin, Marc LeFevre, returned home from his mission in California and we decided to head to St. Johns, Arizona to hear him report. Ryan unexpectedly had to help clean the church on Saturday morning, so we didn't hit the road until 2:00pm. We were making good time and enjoying the scenery. As we came upon Show Low, Ryan turned right instead of going straight. We didn't realize that we were on the wrong road until we passed McNary. Not knowing the roads very well, we turned around and headed in the right direction. We arrived an hour later than expected, but enjoyed visiting with Lyle, Diane and all their kids.
Sunday morning we enjoyed Marc's talk and Ryan was impressed by his cousin who is a changed man. After church, we enjoyed visiting with more Heap relatives and some good food. None of us slept very well and Ethan was getting restless, so we decided to head home. Ethan didn't fall asleep in the car, so we got to enjoy a crabby boy for a 4 hour drive home. It was challenging, but we always enjoy the time that we can see extended family.
