Our friends, Spencer, Christina & Emerson, were house sitting for one of Spencer's Professors and invited us over for cylindrical meat and swimming. We spent the day preparing food for the evening festivities and hung out with Stephen and Heather. We headed over to the Professors house in the evening and enjoyed good food, friends and swimming. Our friends, Karl, Natalie & Bryson, also came to celebrate. Ethan and Bryson are the same age, so it was fun to see them play, see their different personalities, and watch the guys try to get the boys to say innocent words that sound like bad ones. As usual, we had a great time hanging out with our friends from Ray 1st Ward.

We wanted to go see fireworks without too much of a crowd, so we headed over to a chapel near Tumbleweed Park to watch the fireworks with the Scholes. There is a lawn behind the Church and there was a nice breeze, so the heat was not an issue. The fireworks were not the greatest - started 30 minutes late, way too long and way too short finale. Ethan enjoyed playing in the rocks more than the fireworks, but said 'colors' and 'BOOM' when we talked about the experience later. It was Bryson's first time ever seeing fireworks and looked like he enjoyed himself, but got a little tired... it was a very drawn out show.

No matter what we end up doing, it is great to have a day to celebrate the freedoms that we enjoy. We appreciate all those who have made it possible to live in a country like we do.

K We went to the same fireworks show. We were at the airport over there in the parking lot. I agree, Lame! We were so tired and the girls were done so we left about half way through,we will have to plan better next year!
We watched the Tumbleweed fireworks, too. We left early. We felt the exact same way you did- they were way too long and slightly lame. Grace fell asleep before they were over.
