Day three of our trip we decided to tackle California Adventure. The park isn't as packed with rides for little ones, but we knew that there was plenty for us to check out. We started out by going to the new Playhouse Disney Live. Ethan was excited to see all the characters from some of his favorite shows - Mickey Mouse, Handy Manny, Little Einsteins, and Tigger & Pooh. The only disappointing part... They Might Be Giants didn't come out and sing 'Hot Dog!'... what a bummer. After the show we ran into Frozone (from the Incredibles) and checked out a shop that has some of the more expensive Disney items... lithographs, statues, etc.
Ethan found a corner where there were books... he LOVES books, especially Disney books. He could have sat there all day, but his mean parents pried him away to go on the Monsters ride. We hadn't been on it before, but liked it (not worth more than a 10 minute wait, but good). We then headed to check out the new Toy Story Mania ride and ran into Pluto and Mickey. Ethan did awesome... even when Pluto tried to take his beloved blanket (not normally allowed out of his bed, but we were trying to be prepared). We made it to Toy Story Mania and Ethan had a hard time standing in the 30 minute + line.
He didn't know what was coming, but when we made it on he realized it was well worth it! The ride is awesome. You wear 3-D glasses, sit in the typical ride seat, and are moved to various screens that have carnival games featuring the Toy Story characters. Video games and Toy Story... it can't get any better than that for Ethan (and Ryan)! Ethan also enjoyed the store at the end of the ride... he never got bored of it and loved to check out all of the Toy Story paraphernalia. After grabbing some lunch, we went to Bugs Land.
They have a few different water play areas and Ethan was delighted to run around the water and occasionally get tagged. After getting soaked, we headed to Flik's Flyers, Francis' Ladybug Boogie, and Heimlich's Chew Chew Train and rode each at least twice. Ethan loved Bugs Land but was bummed that there wasn't more to ride on. We headed back to Toy Story and Ethan took turns riding with Ryan and Addy while they enjoyed the thrilling California Screamin'.
Did you know that they have Single Rider's lines? You get a pass and hop right onto the ride. Ryan discovered it and we loved to get on, off, and back on the roller coaster several times with time to spare before Ethan and his chaperon rode Toy Story once. Last trip, Addy didn't get to ride the Maliboomer, due to incompetent workers, so she hopped on the ride while Ethan played on the lame S.S. Rustworty.
The water wasn't on in many places, but he liked it. We checked out the Golden Zephyr and rode it about 3 times - without getting off - ah, the joys of Disneyland during the off season! The evening was nearing and that meant that it was parade time. They have a Pixar Play Parade that has all of Ethan's favorite characters, so we staked out a good seat in the shade and waited to have more fun. The parade was cool! The characters and dancers would come right up to the kids, we got sprayed with water, and there were bubbles... bubbles make everything so much more fun! The park closed around 6:00pm, so we decided to eat dinner at a restaurant in Downtown Disney - just as much, if not more of a rip-off!
We finished off the evening by checking out the Lego's Store and the World of Disney (a.k.a. heaven for Addy and Ethan, Ryan looked bored out of his mind!). Ethan was pleased that Ryan found some toddler friendly Star Wars figurines and decided that they would be his treasure from the trip. We also found some fun signs that will be featured in Ethan's big boy room and some fun magnets for our wonderful friend, Carol, who kept an eye on the house and cats while we were gone. The store is so fun and there are a million things that are interesting to look at, but totally impractical. After delighting in the World of Disney, we headed back to the hotel for the night where Ethan and Ryan had fun making Light Saber and Blaster noises until bedtime. Life is good!

Sounds like it was lots of fun. Good job to Ethan for not getting scared of the animals and Well Done for the parents taking a toddler to Disneyland for 3 days.
It looks like you guys had fun. I havent checked your blog in a few weeks. You are always up to something fun with Ethan.
