Ryan and Addy have become fans of the show 'Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives' on the Food Network. We wanted to take Ethan to see the Pacific before we headed home and we thought it might be fun to grab breakfast at a dive featured on the show. There is a restaurant in Long Beach called 'Schooner or Later' that serves breakfast and lunch. After several days of eating cold cereal while sitting on a hotel bed, we were ready to get stuffed!
Ryan ordered the Denver omelet with whole wheat toast and hash browns. His portion was
huge! Definitely what we expected from the spot on the show. Addy ordered French toast and based on the price ($7.15), she expected to come with something on the side... an egg, bacon, or sausage... nope. Seven fifteen for two measly pieces of toast. It was delicious... even picky Ethan thought so, just overpriced for such little amount of food.
After breakfast, we drove a little way south and found a free place to park while we checked out the water and view for a few minutes. Ethan had fun kicking the sand as he walked, but we were ready to be at home so we didn't play in the water or stay more than ten minutes. The drive home seemed long... two tired parents, one tired little boy, traffic in Phoenix, and then we were finally back to our own home. It was a great trip and it was fun to spend time together, but we're glad to be back in our own beds and in an environment that we don't have to worry about Ethan sitting/playing on. Home sweet home!

We are huge fans of the Diners, Drive ins and Dives too!! How cool that you went to a featured place!! We miss you guys too! I guess it is our turn to visit, we will have to get on that! xoxo joy
