Busy, Busy Weekend

Ahhh... Sunday night and a chance to sit down. It has been one of those crazy weekends. It all started out with a plan to hang out with friends on Friday night and it quickly turned into so much more. Addy spent Wednesday and Thursday cleaning the house so we would have a chance to relax and play... wrong, kind of. We definitely had our fill of play time.

Friday night we met up our friends, Stephen, Heather, McKenzie, and Carol at Red Robin. After dinner Carol took off and the rest of us headed back to our house to play Rock Band. The girls made an ice cream run while the boys jammed out. We played, Ethan threw a fit (he didn't want to share toys), Ethan took a bath, played some more, and then Ethan hit the hey. We rarely get to hang out so late with the Burke's, since they live in Maricopa, but they decided to stay the night so we took full advantage. Ryan started Dark Knight around 11:00... and we didn't go to bed until about 1:30. It was a lot of fun to have them stay and hang out later than normal.

On Saturday Ryan woke up early to go to Driving School, lucky duck! He left the house and had plenty of time to spare, but the class didn't start for almost an hour and lasted longer than anticipated. Hey, at least it is done. Addy and Ethan bid farewell to the Burke's and spent the day hanging out, playing with toys, and watching movies before nap time. Ryan's step brother and his wife were in town from North Carolina, so we headed out to his other step brother's house for a get together. We had fun chatting with friends of Greg and Kelly's and family and watching Ethan look for bugs in the backyard and play Fooze Ball. It was great to see everyone and we had fun, but we could tell our energy was starting to fail.

Sunday... we have 8:00am Church. It sounds bad at first, waking up and getting out the door. Once you're there it isn't too bad. Addy subbed in Ethan's Nursery class and was definitely worn out by the time we went home. We were all a little sluggish and looked forward to a nap after lunch. Our nap was delayed due too a visit from our Home Teacher... good visit, hopefully we didn't appear to sleep deprived. We got a quick nap and then had to cook dinner. Our good friends, the Harrison's, called and invited themselves over. They are abandoning us for Boston in a few months, so we felt lucky to get them! We enjoyed having them here and had fun watching Emerson get around the house to get Edith.

Phew! We had a great weekend... tiring, yes! But we had so much fun seeing so many friends and family. Maybe we'll catch up on sleep next weekend.
