Out of the Bag

Some have noticed that the blog hasn't been kept up as much. Some do the awkward glance. While others ask questions... when?, are you thinking about it?, or the brave who ask - are you? Well, the cat is out and yes we are pregnant! The baby is due on October 5th and we should know in about 8 weeks if it is a boy or a girl. Ethan keeps saying that it is a baby sister, but Addy is hoping for another boy. Most importantly, we are hoping for a healthy baby and less complications at the end.

For those who want details... Addy has been experiencing morning sickness like crazy. About a month ago she went to her first appointment and was told to go to the E.R. for dehydration. After several hours in the E.R., 2 1/2 bags of IV fluid, and Zofran, she felt much better. The doctor prescribed an oral form of Zofran and she has found a lot of relief. We also had an ultrasound the day after the E.R. and everything looked good. The baby was measuring on its exact due date and the amniotic fluid levels were normal. Addy has lost 15 pounds so far, but it seems that her appetite is coming back a little. Certain foods and smells still make her sick, but we're grateful that it isn't as bad as it was. So, for all of the friends and family that have wondered why Addy has been a slacker or looks unhappy, you now know why.

We had fun telling our parents this weekend. With Easter coming up and the symbolisms of new life, we put a binki in an egg for Ethan to give to the Grandparents. We told Ryan's parents on Saturday night and Addy's Mom on Sunday. It was fun to see their reactions and see how excited they are to have another addition to our families. Ryan also called his Mom in Oregon, but got her voicemail and left a message. Yes, yes... leave mean comments of how impersonal that was... :)

Congratulations!! It sounds like we will have babies only a couple months apart! I am sorry you've been feeling rotten. Pregnancy can be rough for sure - but the end result is worth it :)

Congrats guys! How exciting, but I'm sorry you've been so sick. That's miserable and I'm sure it's even harder when you're trying to keep up with a toddler. I just found your blog on Elise's. Hope you get feeling better soon and that everything goes well.
