Good News and More Change

Ryan came home at the beginning of this week feeling like things were awesome at work. He had a meeting with his Task Lead to go over his annual goals, something they do every six months. The meeting at this time of year also includes the rating that the employees have reached. He was very happy to learn that he got the highest rating possible - hopefully that will mean a nice raise in the near future.

He also met with his Program Manager - a person who is over several different projects in the G4 Division of GD. He talked to Ryan about a project that they were interested in bringing Ryan on. The project is considered high profile and would be bringing in the company a lot of money. Basically, great opportunities for Ryan to show his stuff, meet new people, and have a job that was secure during these hard economic times. Ryan was excited! He started meeting with people for the new project and reading up on information, but had not heard anything from his Task Lead. As he got more and more involved, he started to feel like his current team had no idea of the possible change. On Wednesday, he talked to his Task Lead and by the end of the day felt like he was staying where he was at. Thankfully, there was some progress made on Thursday and he has been given a green light to move to the new project in two weeks - wahoo! The new project will include learning new things and lots of work, but it sounds like an awesome opportunity. Good job Ryan!
