In the end of November we decided to purchase an annual pass to the Phoenix Zoo. We had attended a few times prior to Friday, January 4th, but this day truly turned out to be a 'day at the zoo'.

Addy and Ethan went to the zoo with Addy's sister, Anjie, and nephew, Aidan. Anjie and Aidan also have an annual pass, so we went with the intention of not making a day of it. We walked around and saw giraffes, rhinos, and birds. The boys enjoyed checking out a tortoise and peacock. We spent about an hour and a half and had a great time and look forward to future trips.

Before leaving the zoo, Addy needed to redeem some extra passes that came with our membership. We thought that our membership gave us a discount to ZooLights, but it provided two tickets. ZooLights usually starts around Thanksgiving and runs until just after the New Year. We were fortunate to get our tickets the last weekend it was running. We decided to go last minute - it was free (basically) and the weather was warm (for January in Arizona). We parked away from the Zoo and rode a bus/shuttle in. Ethan loved the bus ride and the lights. It was another quick trip, but we still enjoyed spending a little time together as a family.
