Time Together

Thanks to General Dynamics plant closure, Ryan had about a week and a half off work. Since we didn't leave town during his break, we did extra fun things together as a family.

We saw 'Fred Claus', celebrated Christmas Eve at Ryan's parents house, shared Christmas with the Heaps and Bowmans, saw 'Enchanted', visited with family at Melanie Heap's wedding luncheon, played SingStar Rocks with the Pouts, watched the 'Bourne' movies on New Year's Eve, and enjoyed dining out and leftovers.

To wrap up our time together, we decided to go on a day trip. We headed out Tuesday morning around 11:00 to Payson, AZ. Ethan enjoyed rocking out to the music of Oppenheimer, the roller coaster road near Usery Mountain and reading his library books. He did a great job in the car and even worked in a short nap. When we got to Payson, we stopped for a quick bite at McDonald's and then headed up the road to Pine and Strawberry. Ryan picked a random road and we headed down it to start our adventure. As we drove up the road, we passed a family that was on a few quads and SNOW. There wasn't much, but enough to give Ethan a good experience with it. We parked on the side of the road and started climbing to see an amazing view of the Rim and valley below. Ethan wasn't very happy being on uneven ground and didn't like the snow. We went back down and let him walk on the main road. He enjoyed the freedom and views. It was a fun trip and Ryan is anxious to go on more... did you hear that Pouts?

We had a wonderful Christmas and New Year break together and enjoyed spending time with extended family and friends. Thanks to everyone who made this time of year special by spending time with us, giving so generously, and sending cards/e-mails with pictures and updates.

This blog is way more entertaining than the ones at work!

Looks like the Heap family had a memorable holiday season. One question though, why no pictures of mom?
